An Epic Summer Outdoor Wedding on the Wisconsin River

When I received the initial wedding photography inquiry from Caitlin and her fiance Garrett, they were looking to get married in just a month, and it was the only Saturday that I had open in July, so I felt like it was meant to be that I photograph their big day! Plus, they mentioned wanting to get married on the Wisconsin River, so then I was all in, I LOVE the Wisconsin River! It’s seriously my favorite place in the world, I think it’s so stunningly beautiful! We have a pontoon and if I’m not out photographing weddings or families, this is where you can find me!

We were able to talk through everything that they wanted for their special day and I was so excited to help them plan. Caitlin and Garrett ended up renting out the beautiful Clipper Winnebago dinner cruise ship. All of the guests gathered together and boarded the boat to be launched from Chula Vista Resort. They pulled the boat up to the rock of Coldwater Canyon and while the guests stayed on the boat, Garrett played a song on his guitar that he had written especially for Caitlin and he sang to her as she walked down the aisle. The pastor from Garett’s church traveled from afar to marry the couple, which meant a lot to his family! It was such an intimate and touching ceremony.

These two are such a sweet and genuine couple. They’ve been together for a long time and wanted to have a small and intimate ceremony and reception. Their gorgeous river boat wedding and reception cruising down the Wisconsin River definitely accomplished that! At the end of the night they dropped me off at Witch’s Gulch and they floated away into the sunset, it was breathtaking!
