WARDROBE!
We can set up a pre-consult to chat about your personal style and ideas for the shoot. Them more ideas, the better - I try to make each session unique and memorable. This is such a cool time in your lives and I want to make your senior session fun, unique and for you to feel beautiful in your photos!
Feel free to bring several outfits to in a variety of colors and textures. Think about what your favorite colors are and what you look your best in. Bring layers, jackets, sweaters, etc. It is awesome to be able to throw something over an original outfit, to give another look in just a few seconds. We will usually photograph four or five outfits. Remember to include different styles, anywhere from classic to boho, elegant, sporty, dressy, ect. Check all of your clothing ahead of time and transport your outfits on hangers to prevent wrinkles. Try to shy away from super busy prints or neon colors.Remember to dress for your body type in outfits that you feel comfortable in.
REMEMBER THE ACCESSORIES!
The more accessories, the better! Remember to bring accessories for all outfits, from footwear to jewelry and hair accents. Bring bold accessories such as shoes, boots, heels, jewelry, sunglasses, hats, etc. Accessories can add so much character to an image. Even if you think they don’t match, bring them! You will be surprised how well different accessories photograph.
BRING A FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND!
The majority of the sessions are on location, and to have several outfit changes can be a bit cumbersome, but 99% of the time, you will be able to change in the car or the outside in a secluded area. I will be driving to all the locations, and usually my car is FULL of props, so if a family member or friend can drive, it helps us to get to more locations = more photos!
GRAB A LITTLE LIP GLOSS!
Adding lip color makes a huge difference in photos! I will have gloss at all times, but feel free to bring your own special color.
CLEAN UP YOUR NAILS!
Make sure your hands and toes are presentable.
Like shoes, hands can show up in some of your favorite poses, so be sure to take the time to make them presentable – guys should trim their nails, and girls might need to touch up their manicure.
PRACTICE THOSE SMILES!
I will help pose you down to the last finger, but it helps to practice your facial expressions in front of a mirror at home, before you go to the photo shoot. You can try various smiles, serious but relaxed looks, and animated expressions for action shots.
And Most important! HAVE FUN!!
