St. Maarten – I didn’t know that an island could hold such amazing beauty, such pleasent people, diverse culture and the most inspiring cuisine all in one place. We were so fortunate to travel with 5 other awesome couples, and stay in one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever imagined.
I completely unplugged the moment I arrived and didn’t look at my phone or email for almost a week….it’s been over 3 years since I’ve done this and it was so so needed. Being present and mindful on this trip was really important to me, and being around other couples that love one another set such a positive tone for the whole trip and made me fall even more in love with my hubby.
We went parasailing (on my bucket list), walked a nude beach (well…only a few of us did – also on my bucket list), spent a whole day on a boat exploring St. Maarten and Anguilla, cliff-jumped, danced in the street with the carnival dancers, dined at amazing restaurants, lounged in the pool, snorkeled, collected sea shells, cooked dinner in the awesome outdoor kitchen (bonus points for my amazing chef-husband), ate a ton of seafood…and pizza(lol), swam in the bluest ocean that I have ever seen, shopped for beautiful jewelry and the cutest cover-ups, drank espresso martinis at the Piano Bar, listened to a ton of Justin Beiber, played games and laughed more than I thought I could. When you come home from vacation and it feels like you did an ab workout from laughing so much, you know it was a good time!
The beach where I took all of the photos is just outside of the home, talk about paradise!! I shot these with my Nikon D750 and almost all of them with my trusty 50mm 1.4 lens. We have a ton of other iPhone pics, but I will leave those for Facebook:)
These two of us were shot at ISO 4000 as the sun had already set – but still turned out:) Thanks Tiff!
