Puerto Rico….what can I say. This place is pretty amazing and was a much needed getaway after this brutal winter in Wisconsin. I was craving warmth, color and the sand between my toes. I took some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken on this trip. Not sure if it was a mix of the good company, rum, the colors of Old San Juan, the majestic rainforest, or the fact that there were adorable dogs all over the entire island (and you all know I am a huge dog lover), but I was so inspired and excited to photograph anything and everything I could. I am going to split my photos up into a few different posts because this would be way too long if I didn’t. We spent 6 days on the island exploring, swimming, hiking, eating, snorkeling and relaxing. I can’t wait to go back.
The first batch are from Old San Juan. It reminded me a little but of Europe, with the narrow cobblestone streets and brightly colored doors and buildings. We explored the city one afternoon and ate lunch at a restaurant where the first pina coloda was ever made….they were so yummy. Oh, and I should probably introduce the beautiful brunette in all of the pics that should be a model. She is my friend Jamie, Justin’s best friend’s (Wade) wife – and she is one of the sweetest and most photogenic people ever. You can see the images I took of their wedding last April here. They are still in their newlywed phase, and it’s pretty cute. The four of us traveled together like a little family and I couldn’t have asked for better company.
Thanks Wade for thaking this one of us! This painting was so neat – this one is for sure a framer!
The next day we went to Luquillo, there were several beaches and we stumbled upon this beautiful one with the softest sand, and spent the first few hours playing and swimming in the waves as a few rain showers passed, it was awesome being in the ocean while it was raining. I took the photos of Jamie once we had dried off and were heading back to the car. No make up, wind blown hair, and shot at high noon….not how I usually shoot, but she is seriously gorgeous and I love how these turned out.
CoConuts!!!
The Luquillo kiosks – like 45 restaurants and bars attached together….and a beautiful beach on the backside of this. Such a cool place.
No make-up and frizzy hair pretty much the entire trip…I kinda felt like a hippie, not gonna lie!
